Vincenzo Bindi was a renowned figure, a point of reference for the artistic culture of Abruzzo and Southern Italy at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. A historian, scholar and humanist with a wide range of interests, he was always animated by a strong love for his land, which drove him to a constant and daily commitment to knowing his land and making it known to Italy. He dedicated his life to collecting and the most varied forms of art, opening his home to artists and intellectuals from all over Europe.
On his death in 1928, Vincenzo Bindi left his house and collection to his beloved Giulianova. The heritage thus became the Pinacoteca, a fundamental reference point of the Polo Museale Civico. The ancient palace on Corso Garibaldi houses a vast library and hundreds of works of art, in a continuous dialogue with everyday objects and memories of the Bindi family.
The Pinacoteca, after careful and accurate restoration work, becomes a point of reference for the town and its tourists, a place where the history and identity of Giulianova once again become a model for art in Southern Italy. The museum aims to enhance the past, while adopting a modern conception, based on accessibility and digital media.
