In the medieval atmosphere of the village of Controguerra, amidst the narrow streets immersed in the green hills, laden with olive groves and vineyards, the Enoteca Comunale (Municipal Winehouse) stands out, the brainchild of the townspeople.
You will find it inside the Antico Palazzo Comunale (Old Town Hall), a highly prestigious location right in the historic centre of the village. Of particular beauty, the palace was erected before 1478 and features masonry structures that can be traced back to the Lombard masters, an example of which is the characteristic round arch.
The Winehouse is run by the Cultural Association ‘Centro Sociale Giovani Anziani’, which has also worked and is working, together with the municipal administration, on the renovation and maintenance of the building, which bears witness to the glorious medieval era: a way of bringing together the ancient origins and the contemporary modernity of today’s community.
This reality lives on thanks to the work of the centre’s group of volunteers, who has made it a point of reference for citizens and an attraction for tourists, who want to enjoy good music and cultural and artistic events, accompanying these pleasant moments with the tasting of a good glass of wine and typical local products.
We therefore suggest you take the opportunity, in this unique atmosphere, to let yourself be carried away by your senses and try the famous Controguerra DOC: your palate will certainly thank you for this choice.
